JUNE 2012 - Gordon's Fundraising Campaign Gordon as well as some of the guys from Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band are involved in a charity cycling event called Boghall and Bathgate Go West Cycle Challenge on Saturday 3rd June 2012 The cycling challenge will see them from Edinburgh to Glasgow via Falkirk. If you'd like to help the team along with their fund raising then please donate and support by clicking here Welcome to TG Drumming Based in the heart of Scotland, TG Drumming was formed over 10 years ago by father and son drummers Tom and Gordon Brown. The heritage and traditions of their world class pipe band drumming teaching system were laid down in 1975 when Tom started teaching youngsters for the recently formed Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band. The Tom Brown School of drumming which started it all of on Tuesday nights many years ago has seen hundreds of beginner drummers of all ages pass through, learning their technique from Tom. Some of those early pupils included his son Gordon and his nephew Jim Kilpatrick. By 1980 the Boghall band had progressed to Grade 1 and Tom lifted the World drumming title with a drum corps of an average age of 15, this was their fourth world drumming title in total since inception. Gordon took over the reigns of the Grade 1 corps in 1991 as Tom retired to focus on teaching the Novice, Juvenile and Grade 3 corps for the future. Under Gordon's leadership his corps has won every major drumming title including the World title in 2001. Gordon has also been crowned World Solo Drumming Champion twice and is a regular top six prize winner in this event. From its humble beginning the same morals, ethics and dedication still hold true today as TG Drumming has evolved. With over 100 young pipe band drummers currently learning from Tom and Gordon both are invited all over the World to teach at workshops and seminars, provide consultancy, write drum scores, give recitals and pass on their knowledge to grateful individuals and organisations. Through their decades of experience in teaching and competing at all levels TG Drumming has developed a complete range of their own branded product line for the pipe band drummer. Gordon is also heavily involved with the Northern Ireland based drumming company Andante on the development of their Reactor snare drum. We hope you enjoy looking around our website.
